'Hanging Around'
A fairground attraction where you wear a velcro suit and jump on to a vertical strip of material, sticking like a fly.
This guy was running the attraction and was actually upside down! I have turned the picture around to improve the composition.

'Hawk Over Hastings'
Taken on the West Cliff at Hastings.
I was shooting in to fog and could only vaguely see the shapes of the boats in the background.
'The Kiss'
I found a stall in Tenerife selling hundreds of these plaques and noticed two next to each other that had a similar theme.
In this version I have digitally removed a price tag that I thought spoiled the overall effect (although the judge didn't spot it!)
'London Calling'
One of my favourites. I like the simple composition of the two famous London sights shown next to each other
- sadly there aren't as many of the traditional red phone boxes left around, so it may well become harder to take this photo in future.
imagination.JPG (53002 bytes) 'Imagination'
This is a close up of a glass bowl I spotted in the window of a shop in Sausilitto (I think that's how it's spelt) near San fransisco.
'Pointing The Way'
This monument to Christopher Columbus can be found in the Puerto Colon area of Playa De Las Americas - Tenerife.
It isn't the most exciting of statues and I must have walked past it dozens of times before I spotted the potential of this rather graphic image.
'Church By The Sea'
Taken in Thira on the Greek island of Santorini. This (along with Mykonos) is where the vast majority of the typical Greek photos you see in holiday brochures are taken (even though most brochures don't actually go there!).
Well worth a visit.
'Santorini Sunset'
As above
seagulls_revenge.JPG (45036 bytes) 'Seagull's Revenge'
Taken about an hour after 'Hawk Over Hastings' after the fog had cleared.
I liked the strong shapes and colours and particularly the single, rather smug looking seagull with all the droppings discolouring the roof.
'Footloose'
I noticed the bold black & white images of this shop front display and was sure that I could find a picture somewhere.
I homed in on this image and was very happy with the result, until a judge pointed out that there was a spot of red showing on one of the patterns (the reflection of my coat).
I have used Photoshop to remove it here, so am far happier with this version.
playground_colours.JPG (57159 bytes) 'Playground Colours'
Taken in the Disney Marketplace in Orlando.
'Knight's Move'
One of my favourite photos. This was taken as seen - no manipulation.
It is a close up of reflections in a wooden lamp stand.
The lamp was sitting on top of a glass chess board, with chess pieces appropriately placed.
'Samos Window'
Taken on the Greek island of Samos.
I stumbled upon this window by pure chance when I turned down a dark alley to find some shade to change a roll of film.
I was struck by the muted colours and textures of the paint.
firemens_helmets.JPG (64917 bytes) 'Firemen's Helmets'
Taken in Brighton at their vintage car rally.
The helmets were on the back of a really old fire engine.
I was lining up this picture when the engine, to my horror, drove off.
I was lucky when I saw get caught at a set of traffic lights. I managed to catch up with it and had just a couple of seconds to grab this shot before it pulled away.
Lisbon_Abstract.JPG (71965 bytes) 'Lisbon Abstract'
I like trying to spot abstract images in the most mundane of objects.
I spotted this block of flats just round the corner from the statue of Christ in Lisbon.
'Luxor - Las Vegas'
This was taken from the 18th floor of the Luxor hotel in Las Vegas.
This hotel is a 30 story pyramid with the worlds largest atrium - an amazing place!
I took this picture (one of my few to use a tripod) from the corridor just outside of my room looking down in to the entertainment area.
'Michelin Man'
Close up shot of a speed boat. Taken in Poole, Dorset.
